We bought a house in Manchester that required a full renovation, including a new extension and major garden work. I feel so lucky to have stumbled across Studio Skey's Instagram, just looking at one photo of their past work was enough to know they were the perfect match for our home.

They were incredible with the logistics from day one, actively researching and selecting the tradespeople who best aligned with this project. Their material sourcing was just as impressive, they introduced us to types of paint we didn't even know existed, decided on the window finishes and colours, tracked down reclaimed wood, imported character rich stone for our flooring, and sourced beautiful products from abroad to find the right options for our home. They were incredibly careful with our spending, making sure we got the absolute best value out of everything purchased.

Throughout the process, they took the time to completely understand our personal style. We only had a general idea of what we wanted, but their modern approach made everything so easy. They use a brilliant website where they upload design choices, allowing you to simply click 'Accept' or 'Reject' on options. It made the decision making and shopping experience so much fun and completely stress free.

When things started coming together, it was easy to get carried away wanting to add more ideas, but they gently kept us in check. This was so important because our home now has just the right amount of everything, and the whole space makes sense.

For the final decisions of each room, I completely trusted their intuition, and I am so glad I did. They chose a gorgeous grey headboard for the master bedroom that initially gave me major doubts when I saw it in situ. However, having lived in the space for more than a month now, I truly believe our bedroom is the best and I have completely fallen in love with it. The colour scheme flows so seamlessly, giving the room a deep sense of calmness and elegance.

By far the most difficult bedroom to put together was for my pre-teen daughter, who disliked every option and kept changing her mind at the last minute. Georgina and Sophie displayed incredible patience throughout. The funny thing is, after rejecting all of the designers' original choices, my daughter has completely changed her mind, we are now in the process of reversing everything to go back to exactly what Georgina and Sophie had selected in the first place!

In the end, we would like to say that our house is truly timeless and beautifully combines all the elements we love, a bit of Antique Victorian, Farmhouse, Wabi Sabi, Ralph Lauren, and Nancy Meyers. We are not even sure how Studio Skey managed to pull this all off, but we are in complete awe. The final result went absolutely beyond our expectations. We haven't even started hosting yet because we ourselves can't get enough of this house, we just want to enjoy this gem a bit longer all to ourselves.

Our project involved a complete refurbishment of every room, our garden and coordination across multiple teams including building contractors, audio visual specialists, kitchen installers, gardening experts, furniture designers and others. They took the lead in pulling all those strings together to give us a comprehensive vision with a large number of moving parts around how the finished product would look.

Sophie and Georgina were fantastic at helping us make design decisions in real time that really added to realising our overall vision and feeding that into all the different parties to execute the work in an amazingly efficient fashion. From our very first meeting all the way through the initial design phase and the subsequent execution, we were given complete confidence that not only were they in tune with what we wanted to achieve but also that they would be the primary drivers of helping us achieve that on time.

We had a very good feeling after our first meeting with the team and that initial view was more than validated throughout our project. Candidly, the end result and the process has been simply wonderful and we couldn’t recommend Studio Skey enough.

We purchased a house in January 2020 which hadn't been touched for 40 years, in fact, it was difficult to believe that anyone had lived there such was the state it was in. Studio Skey transformed our old building by reconfiguring the whole shape of the original such that it has transformed into a delightful home which is spacious, stylish & wonderful to live in.

They advised on everything from wall placements, new window locations right through to paint colours. Planning was passed without difficulty due to their attention to detail & clever referencing of the local environment, especially fortunate as the house is in a conservation area. We had ideas & a style of our own but were happily led into new spheres of bathroom finishes (waterproof plaster finish), ‘living brass’ taps, kitchen worktops of beautiful natural marble & the list goes on. Studio Skey sourced wonderful key elements which together with their stunning vision have resulted in a dream home which is commented on by all who visit, and even by passers by!

I’m thrilled with the result, the transformation has exceeded my expectations. There are lovely little details everywhere and I love the way the design flows through the whole flat. I told Georgina and Sophie that I wanted minimalist, modern, comfortable and feminine - and that’s what I got!

I’m so happy that I have this beautiful space to enjoy. So far I have had my friends to stay, held a big birthday party and several dinners. My granddaughters love spending time here and the space works brilliantly for them too.

We have the most gorgeous space now for all our staff members to enjoy. Not only did Sophie and Georgina totally understand what we wanted, they also worked so hard to get us the right contractors, suppliers etc and made the whole renovation process so easy! Could not recommend more.
